HISTORY

Our firm was founded in Washington, DC and New York on August 2001, its team of lawyers and support have more than 50 years of experience.   Its founder Christopher A Zampogna has practiced in New York and Washington, DC as a prosecutor and in private practice.

 

He has been representing clients for over 30 years and began his practice in New York and expanded it to Washington, DC.  After having countless trials and appeals, in civil and criminal court, federal and local, his law practice has grown constantly in both locations, in very complex matters (estimate of 500).

 

His team of attorneys and paraprofessionals has over 50 years of experience in the legal field.  His office has grown steadily to meet the needs of its expanding client base.

Christopher Zampogna is Past President of the Bar Assocation of DC (www.badc.org).   He serves now as a fellow of the Amercian Bar Assocation (aba.org), offered to only 1% of its members.  

 

He has been considered for several leadership positions in the local DC and New York legal community.  He was asked to run for District Attorney in Erie County New York (Buffalo News May 22, 2008 and recently was a finalist for an appointment by the President as the US Attorney  for the District of Columbia in 2015 (see Sunday, Washington Post September 27, 2015 Metro Section).

Although the office has grown, it has kept its core bespoke philosophy in tact.  To constantly, provide the best legal service, honest advise, to finish the job and with a team approach.  We treat all our client's professionally, pay attention to details, and follow golden rule.

As the founding member of Zampogna, PC, I will take special interest in all your legal matters my office handles for you.

I have been in practice of law since 1992 beginning mycareer as a law clerk for a Superior Court Judge in Ft. Wayne Indiana; then returned to his hometown, Buffalo, New York, to work for a general practice law firm; joined the Erie County, New York prosecutor's office as an Assistant District Attorney, successfully prosecuting hundreds of misdemeanor and felony cases; left for the private sector to join a Western New York law firm, as a senior associate, and developed their employment law section; moved to Washington DC to join a franchise and commercial litigation law firm; and subsequently formed Zampogna, P.C. in Washington, DC in 2001.  

Zampogna PC has flourished since in founding in the field of litigation.

  The practice has focused on litigation including appeals in the civil and criminal courts.   He represents FOP backed law enforcement, and those supported by law enforcement backed non-profits, and in addition international clients as well. 

 

   He is past President of the DC Bar Association and is editor in chief of its Publication, The Journal of the Bar Association of the District of Columbia (www.badc.org).    He is a member of the International Law Committee of the ABA.

 

He has tried to verdict over 450 cases, including state and federal and jury and non-jury trials.  He has argued over 25 appellate arguments, in New York State, 2nd Circuit, DC Circuit, Federal Court of Appeals, and 5th Circuit.

 

He has been in the legal field for more than three decades and has received the nomination and recognition as one of "America's Best Lawyers."  He has been featured in American Airlines magazine for his knowledge in the field of fraud.  He has also taught in the complex litigation fields at Georgetown University and Catholic Law School.  He was honored as a top lawyer by Law 2.0 organization in 2020.

 Mr. Zampogna graduated from the Notre Dame Law School and earned his undergraduate degree from University of Notre Dame as well. He enjoys motorcycle riding, skiing and travel.    He volunteers for with the Elderly, via the Legal Counsel for the Elderly in DC and has a non-profit for PTSD sufferers called PUppsRelief training dogs for those suffering.
 

ABRAHAM BLUESTONE 

Junior Associate graduate of George Washington Law School and member of DC Bar.  He has been an integral part of the Zampogna PC team and supports its ethos as a bespoke law firm.

 


 

 
 
Sheryl Jones Alu

Sheryl Jones Alu had been of counsel with this office for several years.  She specialized in complex corporate work and mergers.  She especially worked in the field of Blue Sky laws.  
 
She was a member of the District of Columbia Bar, Maryland Bar, American Bar Association.  She dedicated much of her time to her local hospital in Calvery Memorial Hospital Foundation, serving as its president.   She had been devoted to her Basset hounds, and quick to laugh.
 
She is missed by this office, making a postiive impression upon it and its clients while she worked here.   We miss her and provide this informaiton in her honor.
